Humbertito wins with Italy!!

Yep, world cup 2006 has finished and we have Italy as the new champ for the next 4 years.

Humbertito III got 6 points on the final and placed himself into first position by far...congratulations!!

Good job by the Texier family.

La gran final...

Ok boys and girls...with Germany 3rd we have the top 8 pretty much settled.

There are only 6 points left in this final...and Camille can get them and win if only if she bets opposite to Humbertito.

Now, Humbertito, 4th generation Italian has been consistently betting for Italy...and Camille, goes without saying, has been inclined to go for France.

Would they bet on the other team guessing what the other will bet?

Great world cup you guys, we certainly had a blast. We have a great presence of the Texiers on the top 8...but also from the Fossati line...mmm...what is the relative percentage?

We have 2 girls in the top 8...you guys provided a great fight ;-)

France win; the Texiers are the ones doing Zamba

Look at this:

Everyone that lives at the Texiers bet on France to beat Brazil...and how lucky they got ;-)

This puts the Texiers on important positions on the top 8...with a new leader...Camille (french dudes are cuter than the Brazilians, i give her that).

The Fossatis in the top 8 are going for the "forza azzuri" against Germany, let see how the Texier-Fossati battle gets after this.

We have 3 women in the top 8 and Humbertito lost his lead to one of them! ;-)

France vrs Portugal...that would be a tuff one to guess...wonder where the Texiers will put their forecast.

Now I know why Brazil lost...they have change the looks on their zamba dancing!!

Humbertito thanks Brazil; The Texiers France...

Today the Texiers, most of them, were the only ones giving France some credit...boy they were going to get 6 points until Zidane (Zizu) decided to make one more goal to seal the "torreros" destiny.

This 3 points helped to put Camille on second place and ready to be first...she is doing an extensive search on the web...pictures a bunch of pictures!

Humbertito got 6 points with Daniela Monje having guess that 3-0 from Brazil. This puts Humbertito back into first place!!

Well, 8 more games to guess, 48 points in play...who will get them??

Ronaldo got his records as the maximun goal maker in World Cups...should they put him against France?

Now....Is this the new FRENCH KISSING?

Grande Nicolas Grande!

Nicolas Rivero has made perfect scores on the last 2 days and today got 3 from Italy ( a penalty gift from the referee) and then he got the max amounts of points on Ukraine since the diff on goals on penalties was 3 goals...and no one dare to bet that.

Now the battle of the Texiers vrs the Fossatis gets 2 more players on the top 8...Jean Michele and Uncle Juan.

I am staying in 4th place thanks to the Swiss...they were suppose to come on twos as usual; but this time on 2s came failing penalty kicks ;-(

Humbertito came down to 2nd place...and he might be wondering why this Swiss game only had 1 yellow card!!! and nothing more.... and Ukraine made 20 fouls and Switzerland only 24 ;-)

Aunt Emma forgot to make her guesses, probably because she doesn't want to abuse anymore like she did yesterday killing a bunch of little kids on LASER TAG!! ;-)

Anyways, since we won't see more Swiss pictures anymore, today they will come as many as all the opportunities of goal they missed!

See some funny soccer clips on the link below...

World Cup at the Texiers!!

The Texiers though I was cooking the books so I was chained on one of their chairs the entire game.

The chain's brand...Sam Adams!

Seems to work since on the Argentina and Germany game I only got 6 points; , most of the Texier got 9 points and Elijah got a wooping 12 point around here.

Since they got more points than me...i got "convinced" to stay over night and see if yesterday was mere luck.

They have a great way to convince...hospitality, great seafood, Valeries potion at card games...to bad we don't have pictures of her becoming an AH ;-)

Anyways, i am still first ...Humbertito not too happy I took his place, I see Emma coming strong since she got perfect scored on the last 4 games!

Wepa! Nicolas Rivero close with Fabrizio on the 4th place...Nico got 17/20 points in the last 4 games.

And then we have the Texier's blondies making sure they will remain on the top 8....blondes do have a soccer heart he? ....i heard they have been doing a lot of research on the teams. Yesterday I caught Camille looking at Cristiano Ronaldo's pictures (Portugal) and she was really considering to bet on Portugal ...(the dude was shirt less)

Time to enjoy some British ass-wooping now!

The good things in Switzerland comes in twos...

AGAIN!!

For the Second time they pull this one off. This time I wanted them to win by one...but no, they wanted to make sure they are first in the group and face the Ukranians.

Anyways, today I got 10 points, I think is a record for me, and I came back to the top. Fabrizio makes 9 points an places himself into the second slot.

Humbertito, who dare to be first yesterday only got 2 points today for not trusting the Swiss goal machinery.

Mom also gets behind on her guesses and Nicolas Rivero reappears in the top 8...congrats!! you got 13 points today Nicolas!!

So....Is this becoming a Texiers vrs Fossati battle...perhaps a boys vrs girls...nah! mmmmm...

Brazil getting all the points and records...

...because they want Ronaldo to have the record as the most goals scored on world cups; now he is tied with the leader.

but today is also Humbertito's day...he made 10 points today!! ...and took me away from my one day of glory ;-(

Tia Emma comes back to the top 8 because she also got 10 points...and Fachi is sharing 3rd place now we the girls that after all seem to know about soccer ;-) ...but my little sis doesn't get 4 points since her guess of Brazil - Australia....mmmm

Today I only made 2 points...I'd better go cry at the clubs with the gringos now ;-)

I am first! ...finally!

Bravo Omar Bravisimoooo!!!

Fallaste el penal y me diste 4 puntos!!

Actually...his name is Omar Bravo ;-)

As you can tell, for the first time I am first in the top 8!! wepa!!

Today I had 8 points in 4 games and my little sis ...nada!

We also give the welcoming to Juan Fossati into the top eight.

Valerie and Camille also made 8 points today and Humbertito only 2 with the tie between the Gauchos and Netherland...But Fabrizio is remaining close...he wants to know how it feels to be in first place!!

Is Sweden a match for Germany now?

I am losing sooooo many points at the last minutes of the game that is not even funny!!!

Paraguay and the Sweden practically scored at the same time making this day not so glamorous.

I end up with 6 points in today's 4 games; but mom! she did 9 points!!

And since the last report (Swiss) 'til now, my father, made a lot of points, more than Jean Michele...welcome into the top 8 Junior!

Anyways, as you can see some Italians got together in Bolivia to watch the game. A game full of red cards needless to say.

I also heard that this boys were late celebrating....mmmm....celebrating what?

I wonder if their wives also had red cards prepared for them ;-)

Anyways, send all you world cup related pictures...and they will be posted on this blog!!

Swiss delight comes on twos?

A few must be loving it more as we can tell the risk takers below: Welcome back Nicolas Texier!
Valerie, a blonde Swiss herself, only gave them 1-0 to her country man...at least this time she did not forget to place her bets ;-)
Anyways, top 8 is looking interesting...because it is not moving too much and I am on it ;-)
My sis is getting away though...is this luck? ...somebody coaching her? ...things that make me say ...hmm! ;-)
Looking forward to watch Spain now.

June 17 is over.

A bunch of surprises on this day!

And Jorge Fossati got 8 points on this day bringing him a other few risk takers up front.

Who would have guess Ghana 2-0??

Italy...either too bad, or the USA team should be now consider another of the "big teams" in the world soccer. Tia Emma and my mother the only ones getting the 2 points here.

Next time will give points for guessing red cards as well ;-)

Now in the top 8...well, considering the ones tied in the back as well, we all have to figure out how to reach MC...another Ghana guesser!

Now, let's see if Brazil does something...and let's hope Ronaldo gets out of the field again if he decides not to run again...this time change him sooner!

Netherland vrs Costa de Marfil

Great beginning by the Netherlands for 2-0; but the African team had too much energy left and with a great shot a lot of us loses 3 points.

This put my little sis in first place and almost all the Texier family in top 8...where is Nicolas Texier? he stopped guessing ;-(

Nicolas Rivero is hanging in there to remain in the top 8.

Now, time to eat burritos and a couple of tequilaso shots

Argentina goleo!!

Nada...nada cambia!

Every one bet on Argentina to win...but not for this much.

Now, let's see what happens to Netherlands....so far leading 2-1.

Match 20: Sweden vrs Paraguay

Y otra vez!!!! ...again, in the very last minutes I score a gooooaaall!!! ...I mean, 4 points ;-)

We have new kids in the block....Elijah and Nicolas Rivero!!

Welcome to the top 8!

Having Valerie getting a little bit out of the way, Humbertito III is taking the lead again with MC that bet on the "Guaranis"

Anyways, now I am a point from tasting the lead for the first time ;-)

Abran cancha!

match 19: England vrs Trinidad & Tobago

Another 4 points for me (and many more) at the very last minute!!

England was tie 0-0 making tia Emma the only one celebrating by then.

But minute '83...el larguirucho...manage to put Humbertito III and Valerie quite happy.

But no, the 2 of them were in the top 2 for a long time...in minute 90, what a shot from England; puts the ever lasting leaders to 3rd and 4th place!

and I am coming close... Now sweden...Valerie wants a tie...and the new leader, my lil' sis' wants Paraguay to win...don't think so!

Fabrizio wants to see goals! ....2 of them for Sweden...it will be only one....and 4 more points for me ;-)

Match 17 and 18: Germany and Ecuador

Wow...too much work...so little time.

A good number of games are being decided on the last 5 minutes of the game!

Yesterday, Germany gave me great 4 points to be back in the top 8! ...should have a beer to honor them.

Now, Ecuador, at the last minute, took away 3 points to Juan, Jorge y Edy Zeballos! ...good for the rest of us that also bet on Ecuador to win but with a more conservative goal diff.

How about that French vrs Switzerland game...perhaps the Texiers want to comment on that ;-)

All I know is that Tia Emma and Camille were politically correct...and got 2 points for that ;-0

I will try to post more entries on the blog...short, but to the point ;-)

Misbehave!

Day 3

After Netherlans winning for 1 goal to Serbia Montenegro and Mexico winning by 2 to Iran we can start to see whose magic ball is working.

Valerie is keeping her lead and also making more points, she must had eaten burritos and got 4 points.

Humbertito III, Jorge and my sis Myriam are quite close..mmm…where is the other brother?

Camille, a soccer player herself, is also comin strong, but today she will have to let her mother finish first.

Welcome to the Zeballos from La Paz; Eduardo had too much faith on Serbia wishing them to win by 2 goals…and Eliana is losing precious points because she forgot to guess goal difference!

Welcome to all the Bolivians that just started “hora Bolivian” to participate; with just 3 to 4 good guesses they can be already among the best ;-)

Now, I was expecting to see some fights in the stands in this world cup; but no, what I saw on TV a few times in Univision and also Fox, is the Bolivian congress behaving like hooligans!! …viva EVO nation! …hevuligans!

And Portugal just defeated Angola, the last ranking team in the world cup. Portugal scores at the very beginning of the game…and like other games, they don’t want to give me 4 points with one more goal…what’s up we that?

We finish the day with Valerie leading with 17 points, the Fossati-Tejadas brothers lose a position, but wait, now we have the Miryams back into running closer to the leader.

Jean-Michele and his mother move out the Zeballos, Jean-Michel got 9 points today, I believe the most points in that house hold today…mmm, I wonder how is that house hold going to enjoy the game France vrs Switzerland ;-)

Anyways, great games…I guess now is time to eat…again.

Day 2: Sweden vrs Trinidad

Well... a tie as you can tell...

And what is this guy saying?

I know, I know you guys keep playing with 10 players and I make sure SHAKA becomes the most popular dude in Trinidad... not bad for a substitute keeper that was called few minutes before the game stars ;-)

Well, Only Valerie Texier decided to bet on a tie...and she only gets 2 points for this...mmm...maybe we should had given more points for tie ;-)

Anyways, she has 7 points, and now she is closer to the leader Humbertito III.

England - Paraguay

Peter Crouch, England looked for him in the ski all game long just because he is 2 m height...but the hooligan is only 69 Kilograms!

Anyways, with an early goal by England, whom guessed 2 goals difference (like mua) got almost certain the 2-0 had good chances to benefit me as well as Fabrizio, Danie, Nicolas, Elijah, Mom, JM and Valerie with 4 points; but no....It was only a 1-0 making Miryam Fossati, Jorge, Eduardo, Camille, Eliana and Humbertito much happier.

Humbertito III is now leading with 8 points...let's see who gets to come close to him. (I know we want the girl below to be next to him)

First Day is over!!

Okay everyone, what a game the opening game! I was lucky enough to take a 2 hour lunch break ;-)

Costa Rica had few chances and they knew how to break the german defense. Actually Paulo Wanchope (picture) had the impresive speed and the tranquility to make 2 goals.

We only had Frank Fossati betting on tie, and nobody dare to give Costa Rica a win. "Las Miryams" wanted to see a lot of action, as Jorge and Fabrizio hoping for Germany to achieve a goal difference of 3...but then again, How dare the Germans play off-side to Wanchope's amazing speed.

At the end, "Los Humbertos", Valerie and myself got all the good 4 points with the amazing German gol from 40 meters!!

And then Poland...

Maybe we should let this guy play for Poland!

Ecuador's best goal keeper...the poles!! ...no, not 2 Poles (Polish dude)...I am talking about the 2 shots to the goal that met the rounded piece of wood sorrounding the Ecuatorian keeper.

Anyways, Only Daniel Zeballos and Miryam Tejada dare to bet on Ecuatorians to win; but they thought it was going to be with 1 goal difference, I don't blame them ;-), lucky for the rest of us!

"Los Humbertos" were going for a tie...In many chances they almost got their 2 points...but no, Ecuador kept them away from ending the day with 6 points ;-)

Anyways, the day finished only giving away 4 points for the "Japas" group...let's see what happens tomorrow.

Ah yes, the best players, voted by many are below...
